I began teaching Art to middle school students within the public school system in 1989. I began working with elementary grades in 1991. I began to pursue a master's degree in Education in 2007 through the University of Phoenix (UoP). The online experience and consistent communication with my instructors and classmates were invaluable. I have been able to perfect my writing, computer proficiency, and research skills through the various assignments required in the UoP teacher education program.
I have always believed in "connecting the dots." Knowledge and learning cannot be strictly confined to subject-area teaching. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BS in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southern University. I am certified to teach both math and science. I have worked with children of all age ranges through teaching at a preschool, teaching at a summer/Christmas camp, and tutoring fellow members of my Church. I assisted with coaching the math team this past semester at SE Bulloch Middle. I have also tutored college algebra for fellow Georgia Southern students. I have taken courses through Calculus 1.
I have an adaptable teaching style. Teaching is most effective on the individual level. While planning for a career in medicine, I obtained a BS in biology with a minor in Chemistry. During the application and acceptance process I was an adjunct faculty member at a local technical college. My courses taught were remedial Algebra, biology, and anatomy and physiology. During the hours between classes I was a paid Tutor in the college's learning assistance center.
I wouldn't have a "professional" description for teaching style as my education was solidly based in the sciences. However, I believe that by teaching intuitive thought processes and critical thinking skills, students can easily adapt to the tasks given be they in science or liberal arts.

Hey there. I am a medical school drop out. I have my bachelors in biology, with minors in botany, chemistry and economics. I wandered through many subjects and interest in school. I have tutored fellow students in my undergrad and in med school. I have a good understanding of algebra, economics, chemistry, physiology and writing papers.
