A Little Bit About Me...

I have always emphasized the immeasurable distinction between education and schooling. Although the two are not necessarily mutually exclusive, in our era they are more and more. I strive to draw a student into a fascination with learning. If that occurs, then education is a fait accompli.
I taught High School US, World and European history to grades 10 - 12. I taught AP European History and Government. I taught Geography, Civics, and Psychology for 5 years. I have owned my own construction firm for 10 years and worked in manufacturing. My specialty is European History with an emphasis in the classics. My literature background is not formal but is extensive.

A Little Bit About Me...

My goal is to provide the best educational experience for my students. I truly enjoy working with young people and helping them learn. I believe that all children can learn regardless of abilities and backgrounds when provided with the appropriate learning environment. I also believe that each child is unique and has different styles of learning, and how these students learn should be incorporated as part of their learning experience to help these students reach their academic potential. I am a strong believer in the constructivist approach to learning and will use this approach whenever appropriate to assist students in their learning experiences.

Maryville College encourages students to be life-long learners who seek cumulative growth through experiences. I am a published author and have organized and researched an original thesis paper. As a teacher's assistant, I work with learning disabled students in areas such as reading literacy and logical distinctions in meaning of symbols and signs in language.
