A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is one of my great passions. I thoroughly enjoy overcoming the initial hurdles as the children are hesitant to receive me as a teacher, and to see them open up to me. It's also thrilling to see them blossom as they absorb new information and incorporate it. I'm certainly an advocate of fostering intelligence at a young age. When children begin to learn, they begin to build self-esteem, which they will carry with them indefinitely. In life, nobody can rob one of his or her education.
Thanks to my education in psychology at Brown University, I have gleaned much wisdom about the workings of human behavior as well as the human psyche. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught Science (Bio. & Chem.), and Early Childhood Ed. now at three different Colleges, for a total of 5 years combined, as well as having been an Early Childhood Educator for a total of 5 years. I also spent two years teaching wilderness education whilst employed by the United States Forest Service as a Wilderness Ranger.
I am a dynamic teaher who believes in a hands on, interactive approach to teaching. Lots of give and take, as well as open ended questioning. The importance of learning vs. teaching is a constant in my method. A student asked me once, was my job to pass, or fail everyone. I responded that my job was to educate.
