During my college career, I worked in lower income elementary schools to provide students an extra opportunity to heighten their reading skills through direct instruction. Through this experience I have gained new insight into teaching reading. I understand the importance of using small groups and one-on-one instruction. I have also had the chance to use Success for All, a different type of reading instruction. After graduating from Purdue University I wanted to challenge what I had learned and how I would apply that in my own classroom. I was driven to find myself as an educator and a professional.
