I enjoy working with students who are willing to learn. My drive to be a tutor happens when that light bulb goes on and the student finally is getting it. The satisfaction and accomplishment the student feels is what keeps me going. My philosophy ensures that students understand and are able to replicate the work I am helping them with. Some tutors just make sure the work gets done and is correct. I make sure the student is able to reproduce the correct answer on their own for future homework and tests. Teaching requires a patient, easygoing individual since not all students learn at similar speeds. There is not one single way to teach, so it is important to encompass different approaches. With this realization, I will teach with an open-mind to strive for effectiveness and success. I will be respectful of my students at all times, even during times of struggle. Pulling through obstacles is what builds character and perseverance, and I know I have performed my job when the student achieves his/her goal of further understanding.
