My comments on tutoring Trigonometry : Have a good understanding of Trigonometry and received a 89% in Fall 2013.

My name is Kevin Guevara and have been a college student for 3 years now, and am pursing a career in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Just obtained my Associates Degree in Math & Science. 3.18 combined GPA in College, 3.34 Transferable GPA. I plan on attending Cal Poly Pomona, CSU Fullerton, or UC Riverside next fall 2016.
I like to explain and show the student how to complete a problem. I do this 2 more time with different questions and then proceed to see if the student understands how to complete it on his/her own. I am open to most styles of teaching if a preferred style is requested.

My comments on tutoring Trigonometry : Ahh Trigonometry. Not my favorite although I really got to love the triangles. Trigonometry is much harder to understand and will require a bit more preparation towards the subject matter

I think the easiest teaching style is to show students how every concept relates. How it relates to other subjects previously learned, why it relates to the real world and why should it relate to school.
I believe my experience falls directly on the amount of effort I have put into the subjects. Coming from another country ad having a lack of communication due to an absence of knowledge of the English language, I have battled my way through school. I have had to put the time and effort into every subject I learned and will not hesitate to share that knowledge with any other student. My experience and abilities are demonstrated really by my efforts and quantity of knowledge of the subjects.

A Little Bit About Me...

Learning goes much deeper than memorizing then eventually forgetting. Learning comes from conceptual understanding of material, building one concept on top of another. I believe that every student has the capacity to learn anything, given they have the basic fundamentals. I prefer to teach using a Socratic method approach, (a means of learning in which the student figures out concepts on their own, with the simple aid of questions). If I do notice a student does not understand a concept in the way I am describing, I try to provide a different means to convey the message. To find these areas of confusion I need to have discussions with the students. These problems are usually easy to overcome once the student is aware of a different perspective. I am Chris, a recent graduate of Thomas Edison State College. I began my college life at the local community college, the Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, California. There, after two years of preparation, I decided to apply for admission to Cal State University Northridge.
