My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : Creative writing has always been an interest of mine. I took at least three college courses over creative writing, writing poetry, and short stories.

I have experience in all things English. From the time I was in high school, I knew I wanted to focus on this subject in my studies in college. I received a BA in English and am currently earning my Masters in Secondary Education to be an English teacher. My interest in English goes beyond the classroom. I have always been an avid reader and writer, pointing out themes and connecting stories to real life. Since graduating college, not only have I gone back to school to be a teacher, but I have also written articles and edited for websites, blogs, and newspapers. i believe English is as important as any other subject in school. It is also important to make sure that what they know is correct and that they are not confused or misunderstanding the material. After which, getting to know the individual style of learning for each student will insure that time is used efficiently and that the student is understanding and retaining the material being taught. The key to being a good teacher is being patient. I believe children learn best in a positive and stress-free environment. When a child does good on the work then I praise them and if they make a mistake then I explain to them the error in the homework.
