Experience Summary
Registered Nurse in Texas for 31 years (class of 1992). I have worked in many various fields including cardiology, dilasys, medical/surgical nursing, ER, rehab, renal, pre and post operative care. I have also been a nursing instructor, where I taught cardiac, orthopedics,endocrine with an emphasis on diabetes, anatomy and physiology, dosage calculation, and general nursing care, including work in the skills lab. I have experience teaching my patients and their families, who normally have very little, if any, knowledge about their conditions that they can effectively manage their health on their own.
Teaching Style
Very relaxed and encouraging. I use quite a bit of discussion, and I like to ask students questions that lead them down the path to help them discover the answers they seek. I have found that information is better retained if one can guide the student to the conclusion that they seek, building upon the knowledge that is already there. One of my favorite thing is watching stidents' faces when they have the "Aha!" Moments.
My Hobbies
Reading, spending time with family, fishing, and cooking.
