Experience Summary
I have been using Computer Aided Design software since I was 15 years old. I have experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Solid Edge and Autodesk Inventor. I currently work in the Aerospace/Aviation field as a CAD expert and Draftsman so I have a lot of work experience to back my degree. I found in my experience, a lot of CAD learning is done on the job and school doesn't always teach to the industry. I am able to give you the tools and knowledge of what tools you will need and what you won't. Things such as layering, plotting, troubleshooting and shortcuts to make you a more efficient CAD user. I also have about 2 years of experience teaching robotic to 7th grade students, lots of outreach projects with the YMCA and volunteered for Women in Engineering while in college.
Teaching Style
I am a hands-on teacher. I will show you the basics, give you tips and then let you fly on your own. I am not going to teach from a book or lecture you. You will need the CAD program you desire to learn. Most of them have a student loaner version you can download. I will ease you in with basic shapes and basic drafting drawings. I will teach you how to both draw and draft according to the ANSI/ASME Y14.5 standards used in induststy. That way you learn the dimensioning and tolerance standards at the same time.
