Experience Summary
Hi there, thank you for viewing my profile! I am currently a student teacher in a 5th grade classroom in Ann Arbor, MI. I will be graduating from Eastern Michigan University this April (2021) with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education with an endorsement in Learning Disabilities. I have worked within several school districts over the past six (6) years as both a tutor and paraprofessional. These districts include Wayne/Westland Community School District, Ann Arbor Public Schools, and Livonia Public Schools all of which are in Michigan. I have also worked within the New York Public Schools as a tutor in 3rd grade classrooms.
I am open to tutor grades 2-6 in all subject areas. At this time, I am only offering tutoring online. I am also open to editing any written assignments through the undergraduate level if that is your need.
I have six (6) years of experience tutoring in math grades 2-5.
I have six (6) years of experience tutoring in science grades 2-5. The teacher that I am currently working with was once a teacher at the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum; this gives me great insight for adapting lessons to make them understandable and fun!
I was an America Reads tutor in the New York Public Schools. I have six (6) years of experience tutoring in ELA (this includes grammar, phonics, reading, writing, and spelling) grades 2-5. I graduated high school with a 4.5 GPA due to high scores in both literature and language arts. At NYU, I took several writing intensive courses to make best use of my time there.
My hope is that all of the students that I work with leave with a positive view on learning! I want to work with students and parents to personalize sessions to their needs and interests as much as possible therefore, I always encourage any resources or suggestions you may have.
