Experience Summary
I am in my sixth year of teaching high school mathematics in Rural West Tennessee. I am currently teaching Geometry, and I have also taught Algebra 1 and Bridge Math. I am certified and highly qualified to teach all content areas for Grades 9-12, as well as middle school mathematics. While I was working on my masters degree, I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant for The Reading Center at The University of Tennessee at Martin. In this role, I taught developmental reading to college freshman, student athletes, and international students. I also assisted in the after-school reading/tutoring program, which serviced children from Kindergarten to high school who lived in Northwest Tennessee.
I have always LOVED math! In high school I wanted my math class to last forever (I didn't want to go to History, LOL!). My high school math teacher was actually the reason I decided to go back to school to get my teaching degree. I want to end the stigma that "math is hard", and it is my mission to help students believe in their math abilities and hopefully love math as much as I do!
