Experience Summary
I have worked with students with disabilities of all ages for the last 6 years, and before that worked in daycare and retail. I have a tremendous amount of patience and dedication when I start working with a student. I have been working as a Reading Specialist for the last 4 months. Prior to that, I was working in a self-contained classroom with grades 1-3. Before that, I was working with students of multiple disabilities and medically fragile students on a variety of subjects and life skills.
Teaching Style
I believe that having the student engaged and with a hands-on approach is the most effective with lots of practice and support for questions and trial-and-error on their own. I understand that each child has a unique and different learning style and pace, and may need adaptations and modifications based on the skill or subject being taught.
My Hobbies
I enjoy helping other and working with children of all ages. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my young daughter and family.
