Experience Summary
My bachelors is in Elementary Education, but my experiences are in middle school. I started my teaching experience in Salisbury Maryland where I did all of my student teaching. The two sixth grade classrooms that I engaged in were totally different from each other; different demographics, different backgrounds, different school cultures, and the list could go on. Each school however did share one thing in common; the ability to throw curve balls at you at every turn and neither schools fell short of an eventful day. I had tremendous mentors and I was awarded Maryland Teacher of Promise in 2017. For the past two years, I have been in charge of my own classroom of seventh graders. I have learned a lot from them and most importantly, I continue to learn every day from my students.
Teaching Style
I believe that the success of the student relies in one thing; and that thing is TRUST. If the student trusts in their teacher, an amazing relationship can be formed. The student would become more opened to suggestions and constructive criticism. With that trust in the teacher, they would believe that they are to be lead into the right path no matter how tough it may be at first. The teacher should be encouraging perseverance through the struggles and promoting the incredible feeling of success once the goal has been reached.
