Experience Summary
In 2013 I went on a 2 year LDS mission to what was then the Russia, Vladivostok mission. For those two years I lived in Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude, Russia which is in Southern Siberia and then lived in Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, and Ussuryisk, Russia which are cities on the Eastern coast of Russia. I lived for a total of 6 months with native Russians and only spoke Russian for those 6 months which really helped me to master the language. When I got home in 2015, I took high level Russian classes at Utah State University and received a minor in Russian. I still keep in touch with friends in Russia and talk to them frequently so I don't forget.
Teaching Style
I like to make learning fun. Russian is a hard language to learn and can be very challenging. At times, it can be discouraging and so if it is fun, it will take much of that stress off of the learning and help what you learn to stick in your head. As my teaching style is fun, I will also challenge you and give you some short but challenging homework problems to keep your brain thinking about the concepts we will learn.
My Hobbies
I play basketball, golf and love watching football and basically any sport. I hunt and fish and do some guiding on the south fork of the snake river. I love to ride my dirt bike and do a lot of trail riding.
