Experience Summary
My educational intetests lead me to complete a wide range of subject-disciplines in Mathematics. At the South Puget Sound Community College Math Center, in an open classroom setting, I tutored up to ten students an hour. I also tutored privately for several years around that time, and in March of this year began tutoring again. I'm an expert tutor in the following subjects: elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and SAT prep. I'm also experienced with elementary education, grammar, reading, sentence structute, punctuation, etc.
As a tutor, my goals are to teach students to be independent and to build confidence and moral. I develop individual lesson plans to accommodate different learning styles, monitor student progress, and help improve grade level. I'm also accustomed to working with students with learning difficulties.
Teaching Style
I attempt to answer questions and explain concepts with as much detail as possible, while letting students discover answers on their own. I try and let the student arrive at the answer as independently as possible. I explain concepts using technical terminology, lamen terms, analogies, examples, pictures, videos, or drawings, etc.
