Experience Summary
My experience as a tutor began with me helping my fellow classmates with homework while taking Physics 1 & 2 my freshman year of college This was purely for the sake of helping my friends: I genuinely enjoyed helping them learn. I began making work of it my sophomore year of college, advertising my own services and working independently, tutoring both calculus and physics. I was hired as a tutor at the University of South Florida my junior year of college and tutored physics exclusively while working there. I still enjoy tutoring and love the fulfillment of helping others tackle tough subjects.
Teaching Style
I am a firm believer in the effectiveness of the Socratic method. Rather than tell the student how to solve a certain problem, I prefer to ask guiding questions to encourage them to think critically about the problem and reach the solution on their own. This leads to the student being more familiar with the thought process involved in solving the problem, and leads to them being more comfortable solving the problem independently later down the road.
