Lab activities, analysis in the context of ecology and ecophysiology: the activities target the influence of solar radiation on aquatic organism (Amphipoda) from an ecophysiological perspective:
- Oxygen consumption in amphipods under different quantities and qualities of UV irradiations using UV lamp and filters.
- Amphipods reactions under UV irradiation after different feeding (green algae Ulva or red Algae Porphyra)
Ecological and zoological analysis: identification and count of macrofauna samples from the intertidal zone (Low, middle and high) in order to see shifts of community composition during the year.

Lab activities, chemical and biochemical analysis in the context of Ecotoxicology: the thesis concerns the assessment of environmental quality and risks to human health in the largest petrochemical complex in the Mediterranean.
- Chemical analysis: Analysis of heavy metals, mainly mercury, in fishes and mussels.
- Biochemical analysis: CYP450 activity, EROD assay, Lowry method for the evaluation of proteins
