Experience Summary
I am a recently returned Peace Corps volunteer from Panama, where I became fluent in Spanish through training and day-to-day professional and non-professional interactions. Prior to this, I took Spanish throughout college and high school, and participated in several study abroad programs to hone my Spanish skills. While in the Peace Corps, I tutored high-school and middle-school students in English.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is student driven. I like to see the student take charge of their own learning, and assist them to achieve their own goals. I am very flexible, and work with my students to develop an approach that works for them and meets their needs. I also believe in an interactive approach, and like to involve as many different learning styles in my lessons as possible. I believe the best way to learn a language is through emersion, so I push my students to find ways to interact in Spanish as often as possible.
My Hobbies
Cooking, dancing, outdoor activities, animals, books.
