Experience Summary
My name is Alex and I have Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Engineering from Kansas State University. I graduated from Bishop Miege High School. I scored a 34 on the ACT and I have 5 years of tutoring experience at KSU in subjects such as Geometry, Trigonometry and College Algebra all the way to Differential Equations. I am currently tutoring 5 different students for the ACT and each have shown a 3-5 point improvement in their test scores since they began their sessions with me.
Teaching Style
Based on my experience, I believe that anyone has the capability to learn and expand their knowledge on a subject - if they put the work in. My goal is for my students to begin to "learn how they learn" so they can develop the self-confidence to begin solving problems on their own. I facilitate student growth by assessing strengths and weaknesses, focusing on problem areas, and improving problem solving skills. The skills gained from these sessions will not only help students with a particular test or subject, but will help them in countless future classes and endeavors.
My Hobbies
I am an avid soccer fan and I love going to Sporting KC games in my free time.
