Experience Summary
Hi ! My name is Lucy and I am a fluent in both English and Spanish. I was born in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico and I came to the U.S when I was a year old. My first language was Spanish, and my family and I speak only Spanish at home. Although I have no actual teaching experience, I am studying to get a degree in Elementary Education from UNCG so I can teach children
Teaching Style
More conversation as opposed to strict textbook learning. In the actual Spanish speaking world, we speak a lot more casually. If students only learn from the book, they struggle to keep up with real life Spanish conversations. Also, I believe it makes learning less enjoyable if the students are only memorizing vocabulary and learning how to conjugate verbs. I like to try to let them learn memorizing by playing games and activities. Children should learn another language as early as possible so that they retain what they learn and so that it is easier for them in the future
