Experience Summary
My experience in an elementary classroom demonstrates my competence in tutoring students in all areas of Elementary Education. I taught in a classroom for four years. I designed and implemented lesson plans for all subjects, differentiating instruction as needed. My classroom was filled with children with learning disabilities including, disgraphia, dyslexia,ADHD and autism. I have an enormous updated repertoire of techniques for students of all ages. In addition to the teaching in the classroom, I have been a private tutor for eight years. Since I am currently working on obtaining my Master's I am writing many papers varying in length. Every assignment I have completed has received 100%. Also, I have worked with several college age students who have asked me to review their papers. I helped these students make the necessary revisions while teaching mini lessons centered on the areas of weakness. At an elementary level, I designed an implemented a writing program which encompassed learning how to write, familiarizing them with the different genres of writing, grammar and the entire editing process.
Teaching Style
I prefer a hands on method rather than worksheets. I engage the student in the entire learning process. I incorporate technology into the learning process as much as possible. This is effective in keeping students engaged as well as educating them on how to stay current in today's technology driven world.
