Experience Summary
I learned to play chess at 7. I studied the annotated chess games of the Grandmasters. I played a Radio Shack chess computer for several years until I was pretty good. I started a chess club at Trinity High. Then after high school, I played about 8,000 hours with other people and software. Then I went to my first United States Chess Federation tournament in Dallas, Texas in 2005. I got first place in the Open section. I earned $75 for playing 5 games. I played in a few more tournaments, and turned my attention to other more profitable pursuits. I continued to develop my skills online and against chess engines. A few years later, I wrote a book about some chess knowledge which is mostly untouched in the majority of chess books.
