Experience Summary
I am Monica Taylor I am an outgoing person who loves to teach. I have worked with after school programs for 11 years as a tutor, Programs Coordinator, and Assistant Director of Summer Reading Program. With this program I worked with at risk kids form some rough neighborhoods with homework and life skills. For 3 years I worked in daycare running summer programs focusing on math and reading skills. With the program I was able to help kids from ages 6 to 12 year old learn and master up to 60 new words each summer. Most recently I have been a Head Start Teacher for 2 years making sure students are kindergarten ready! I have a passion for helping children learn and have fun while doing it.
I like to test all children when I first start working with them to see where they are and keep records of progress so parents always know how their child is doing. I have lots of patience, drive and dedication. I have worked with some challenging kids, shy kids, and kids with developmental delays. No matter the child I pride myself on being able to get through to them and help them overcome their educational hurtles and fears. I never give up on a student. All people don’t learn the same and it takes someone who is willing to be versatile to get to those students that most people would just give up on. I want give up on you!
