I am a 3-time certified teacher with 6 years of classroom experience and 13 years of one-on-one tutoring experience. Teaching is my passion! I've helped 100's of students break their bad habits and/or bad attitudes to become more successful in their academics. Teaching Style
As an experienced tutor, I've seen what works and what doesn't. If a tutor approaches his/her student with the same attitude as that child's school teacher, it decreases the effectiveness. I believe one-on-one tutoring should have an aura of "help" instead of the student feeling they are being "taught." Tutoring should be fun, relaxed, motivating, and encouraging. If not, the child will dislike the experience and gain little. I've developed many "tricks" to get kids excited about learning and get over their fears of academics. Children should look forward to tutoring; my goal is to provide that positive attitude toward learning.

Other Comments
I offer a unique opportunity. I have an office where I do most of my tutoring in Pembroke Pines near Pines and Palm. There is a tutoring room, a parent foyer, a bathroom, and reserved parking. Kids get a free snack every visit. It's a nice getaway from a home, putting the child in a "tutoring" frame of mind without the distractions of home.
