Hi! my name is Billie, and i'm a creative professional with over 15 years of experience in the field of Graphic Design.
I have been working as freelance graphic and web designer since early 2000. In addition to my personal experience, I also have professional hands-on experience in the graphic and web design field, and have worked in a technology firm for over two years.
I have designed and developed websites by hand as well as for clients using wordpress and Joomla.
I work extensively and daily with the latest version of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, InDesign CC). I also have worked with Print, designing and printing business cards, pamphlets, flyers and other printed materials.
I am highly skilled and proficient in the use of type, typography, basic design principles, the use of color, balance, and overall composition, as well as technical skills in using design and layout programs.
In addition to my graphic and web design experience, I also have experience and talent in drawing, sketching and painting on canvas and paper.
I hold an Associates Degree in Computer Science from Tunxis Community College (Graphic Design was my major), and a Certificate as a certified Level 1 tutor from the College Reading and Learning Association.
Teaching Style
I have a very gentle, step-by-step hands-on approach to tutoring. I care about how my tutees learn, not just what they learn! I understand and appreciate that everyone learns differently, and I tailor my tutoring skills to each individual person based on their needs.
