Experience Summary
I have taught Math at the middle level for four years, helping students gain skills and confidence to improve their math performance. I have taught general and advanced Math classes. My instruction has guided students to perform better in class and on standardized tests. I emphasize that standardized tests make the math process easier by displaying the possible correct answer, so working backwards is an option. But most importantly I have learned that several students suffer from test anxiety in class and more frequently on standardized tests. So I teach to make students feel more confident with their math skills and I teach test taking strategies.
Teaching Style
I like to include technology and real world scenarios when giving instruction. I try to simplify to learning process of math skills. Math consists of rules and formulas that must be followed to be successful. Repetition creates a disciplined mind, which is needed to follow the rules/formulas each and every time it is required.
