Experience Summary
My field of study is in Mechatronics Engineering specialized in Artificial Intelligence. I currently moved to the United States from Sweden and my country of origin is Somalia. Living in different countries gave me the opportunity to learn new languages and cultures and this also affected my career selection. Working as an artificial Intelligence Engineer requires to create strategies for a machine to understand or able to think like humans. This involves cognitive intelligence, Psychology, visual thinking, decision making, etc. I volunteered and worked as Physics teacher at Gollis University in Somalia for 6 months. I love teaching and currently I'm interested to teach Arabic Language. My native languages are Arabic and Somali and i can speak English and Swedish fluently.
Teaching Style
I like interaction teaching where students can participate most of the time. I do research before class, look after interesting questions that could attract the attention of students to the subject. I always Use practical examples. For example if I'm teaching Physics and want to discuss the Friction force, a simple example that could be used is talking about how cars slip during winter times and how the application of friction force could be so critical for road safety.
My Hobbies
I like Drawing and reading. I'm currently attending an Art Class on Wednesdays at Bowery Mission, New York. Drawing makes me so relax and I always like to interpret my feeling through my drawing. I like reading because this is how I can communicate and learn from people that I never met.
