I taught students with various special needs in a public school system for sixteen years. I left teaching to raise my son and then to raise my step children. I decided to re-enter the world of work and began to work part time in various offices (insurance, real estate, small business, clothing store and landscaping/gardening center) so that I could have the experiences outside of a classroom environment. I decided to work with children and began to pursue a position as a preschool teacher. I have experience working with adults who happen to have various special needs and I have worked with children from kindergarten through high school. My degree in special education has allowed me to be proficient with individualizing instruction and curriculum to meet the needs of each person I tutor. I believe everyone is able to reach or exceed their potential, if they are given the time and tools that are necessary!
