Experience Summary
My unique personal and educational experience qualifies me to be an excellent candidate to tutor young adults and children. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Science from Open University, a prestigious university in the United Kingdom. My degree focused on Biology, Geography, Geology, Evolution, Earth Science, Physics, Ecosystems and Environmental Science.
I am a multi-disciplined tutor with over 3 years experience tutoring elementary to high school students. I also have experience teaching at a private school overseas, and I am TEFL/TESOL certified. I have experience teaching and tutoring in a number of subjects including English and Reading (including assisting students with fluency, expression, grammar, and pronunciation), Social Studies, Science and Art.
I have been playing soccer since a very young age and have played for many teams at different levels. I have won many awards during my career and have also had experience coaching younger players in the past. Soccer is more than just a hobby of mine and I love passing on the knowledge and skills I have gained over many years to other soccer enthusiasts.
My goal is to maximize individual learning by providing an interactive and hands-on learning environment that will effectively maintain the students’ interest. I will continuously help each student improve and succeed in each tutored subject, while simultaneously maintaining a positive atmosphere in order to increase the students’ confidence.
My Hobbies
My main hobbies include Soccer and Art, where I have played soccer at different levels for 20 years. Art has always been one of my favourite things to do in my free time, where I like to draw using different methods, I have also studied a design course for a year at the Open University.
I have a massive interest in science and natural history, the main reason why I decided to pursue a career in Natural Science and hope one day to become a Palaeontologist. With this I enjoy spending time at museums, gallery's and historic locations.
I enjoy travelling, which is how I ended up as a teacher in Ecuador, and have travelled to places in Europe and the United States.
With my fondness in nature, I spend a lot of time going on walks or bike rides in scenic areas taking advantage of the views to follow my interest in photography. I also enjoy reading, playing golf, all things technology and socializing.
