Experience Summary
I've been tutoring friends and family for years! I love tutoring because it is so rewarding to see my lessons help students achieve better grades. I am studying to become an ASL interpreter, and have completed ASL levels 1, 2, and 3 with a GPA of 3.8. I worked as a professional nanny for 6 years, so I have experience working with children, and I have been tutoring friends and family for about 4 years.
Teaching Style
I like to teach through repetition and practice. The only way to learn something is by learning the concept and working with it over and over again until it is stuck in your mind. I often achieve this with flashcards and organizing by colors. Colors can help categorize different concepts by associating aspects of a certain concept with one color, and aspects of another concept with a different color.
My Hobbies
In my free time, I like to take notes from my text books and then organize them in a way that helps link concepts together. I also like to crochet, care for my pets, and hula hoop!
Other Comments
I would be a great tutor for any student that needs help being organized with their school work, as well as any student who wants to learn to sign!

I'm very good at managing homework, even when there is a lot to get done. It's important to tackle homework with a method so you don't feel overwhelmed. I can help with that! My GPA is 3.8, and my classmates are always asking me for homework help, wondering how I manage all of my college coursework! |

Study Skills |

I have always loved to study. Many times, I have created my own study guide that my classmates have used to pass exams and quizzes. I'm very skilled at picking out which information is important for understanding a concept and which information isn't. I'm a big believer in using flash cards, outlines, organizing with color, and Cornell notes. Of course, I would find the best method of study for each student and continue from there. |
