Experience Summary
I am a recent graduate of Butler University with a BFA in Dance Performance and a minor in English. I am currently a dancer with Nevada Ballet Theatre and I can give proficient lessons in ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, character, and musical theatre dance. I have taught students as young as three and as old as eighteen; I have taught in professional settings such as ballet academies and competition studios, as well as recreational settings such as community summer camps and after school programs.
Teaching Style
Because I come from a ballet background, I understand how important it is in developing proper technique needed to improve in most forms of Western dance (anything derived from ballet). I have taken courses in classical teaching analysis and my teaching combines ideas from the Vaganova, Cecchetti, and RAD schools. Students will develop a better understanding of their physicality and understand what they are doing structurally and anatomically in order to help improve their dancing.
