To whom it may concern,
My name is Prisca Nemer, I am Lebanese residing in Virginia, USA. I have a Teaching Bachelor's degree in Translation and Foreign Languages from the Lebanese University of Beirut. I have been working as a translator and an Arabic linguist for the past 10 years. I speak, read, and write three languages i.e Arabic (native speaker), English, and French.
I have worked for 5 years for Open Source Center, an agency affiliated with the US State Department. My role was to monitor over 40 key social media pages on a daily basis, author daily social media highlights on ongoing political, social, religious, and economic issues, and apply strategic planning, prioritization, and project management skills toward consistently achieving critical deadlines while maintaining high quality standards. My task was also to translate Arabic print and voice material into idiomatic English, edit English translated texts, and select items of customer interest prior to translating them.
Prior to that I worked as a translator in Beirut Lebanon, during which I translated legal, journalistic and literature documents, translated the UAE Federal Law from Arabic into English, Edited and proofread English texts.
From to 2005 until the present day, I have been a freelance translator. I have worked in the field of subtitling and dubbing English and French documentaries into Arabic, translating journalistic articles from English into Arabic, as well as translating articles and books from French into Arabic.
Teaching Style
I believe that teaching a Foreign language must be done in task-based approach emphasizing communication and the practical uses of language. I help students develop their knowledge through interacting and engaging.
