Experience Summary
I have mentored and tutored people ages 6-27 in the past 4 years. I served as a lead mentor for students at risk of expulsion during my collegiate experience at Randolph-Macon College. I also served as a peer writing tutor. Before my college years, I was a dance apprentice for Brushwood's School of Dance. I am currently a respite care provider for a child in Hanover.
Teaching Style
I am energetic, upbeat, and goal-oriented. I am flexible, but have a policy of mutual respect between myself and my tutee. My style involves incorporation of child and school psychology into tutoring. During a tutoring session, I tend to emphasize goals for the tutee through check lists and encouragement. The session will also include occassional 30 second "brain-breaks", victory dances, and teaching moments.
My Hobbies
Outdoor activities, baking, reading, blogging, meditation and yoga, art.
