Experience Summary
I have taught elementary and middle school in small K-12 schools in Thorne Bay, Alaska and Prospect, Oregon. I gained more experience teaching elementary school in the Grants Pass School District as well as the Three Rivers School District in Grants Pass, Oregon. From there I moved to Vancouver, Washington where I taught behavior-disabled elementary students in a self-contained classroom in the Vancouver School District and middle school resource in the Evergreen School District, both of these very large districts. From Washington I moved to Arizona where I taught middle school regular education as well as special education in both the Kyrene School District. as well as the Scottsdale School District. My move to the Tempe Union High School District in Tempe, Arizona afforded me the opportunity to teach emotionally disabled students in a self-contained classroom, students with specific learning disabilities, and regular education math students.
While in Arizona, I was an official State of Arizona math tutor at the high school level and worked with students who were preparing for the state math assessment. I also worked as a high school tutor for six years while in the Tempe Union High School District. My experiences are broad and have included teaching ESL students at the middle school and high school level as well as tutoring ESL students outside of the school day.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is dependent upon a student's learning style. Once I determine how the student learns best, I tailor my teaching style to their needs.
