Experience Summary
I am applying to be a tutor for your child because of my profession. As a teacher, I value the development of the whole student in order for them to excel academically as well as socially. My teaching style exemplifies this by reinforcing a constructivist teaching philosophy in the classroom. I believe that lessons should be designed to enhance students’ experiences so they are able to anchor their knowledge in experience. I may contribute to the school by having the experience of creating lessons where students learn through discovery. I have student taught in a special education classroom where I was asked to create and modify lessons using Common Core standards in order to fit the needs of all learners. My experience in being able to modify, adapt and differentiate lessons would make me an important part of the professional learning community. I have had many wonderful experiences that have shown me the importance of meeting the needs of the students and then furthering their zone of proximal development. I would be able to incorporate my vast background knowledge of working with students of many abilities in order to work with my professional learning community to create strategies that help students to become career or college ready.
