Experience Summary
I have a bachelors degree in mathematics which I just recently completed in May of 2015 from Binghamton University. I tutored at the university for 2 years in trigonometry and calculus 1. The list of math topics that my major covered are as follows: Calculus 1, 2 & 3, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Number Theory, Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Topology, Probability and Statistics (as 2 separate courses) and financial mathematics.
Teaching Style
I understand that math can sometimes be a very ambiguous subject for many people. For instance, a lot of times it just looks like things can magically happen without a very good underlying explanation, and to overcome that I try to really break things down and pull things apart, sometimes with real life examples, physical examples and even just showing the student exactly where the "magic" part is coming from. My tutoring experience has helped me to realize that not all students understand things the same way so it is inherent that you can teach using different methods especially when it comes to subjects like math.
