About Me

Experience Summary

I have had over fifty hours of experience tutoring math on the spot. Students would come in at whatever time was convenient for them while I was available with varying questions from a wide array of subjects. Sessions were student-led and I worked on quickly transferring between completely different topics.

Teaching Style

I am used to student-led teaching. The students choose the topic they feel they need the most help with. I walk him/her through an example problem or two and then he/she does a few alone. Once I feel that he/she is comfortable with the topic, I ask whether he/she would like to try any more. This allows the student to take control of their time and learning experience, which is often much more interesting and enjoyable for them. However, I am open to going through the book consecutively. This would allow me to practice and prepare for each lesson specifically. I would continue personalizing the education experience.

I have Microsoft Word 2010 and the following Prentice Hall math textbooks: Common Core Course 3, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Geometry. I also have the online Algebra II textbook. In addition to these materials, I also use the TI-Nspire graphing calculator and GeoGebra.
