Experience Summary
I have 30+ years of teaching experience. I have worked with a wide variety of students from elementary age to adult learners. I am certified in special education, gifted education, elementary education, and have a master's degree in educational psychology. I have helped adult learners and at-risk youth earn their GEDs. I have worked with autistic, SLD, and ID students as well as students with rulings of ADHD.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is a combination of visual, and kinesthetic. Most of the students I have worked with in the past who are learning disabled learn best by seeing and doing( hands-on ) It works best for these students if they are able to see the work being presented and then try it themselves. In reading, I tend to like to have the student read a small section of the paragraph and describe a few things that stuck out in their mind. ( Create a picture ) For younger students I may actually have them draw what they read.
