Experience Summary
Previous nursing tutor at Dutchess Community College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Have compiled multiple Power Points over the years which explain concepts in simple terms and which have illustrations of concepts which will not be found in nursing textbooks. Unfortunately, nursing textbooks tend to be a faceless landscape which is presented to the student with many complex concepts. It is important that the student be able to visualize the concepts as nursing is all about understanding and not memorization. At exam time, students are normally assigned approximately 19 chapters of reading. The brain needs concrete objects to latch onto, such as pictures. Otherwise, the brain will be unable to easily retrieve one sentence from the mass of information which the student is required to know. Between illustrations and specific strategies for answering nursing questions, the aspiring nursing student should be able to easily pass his/her exams.
