Experience Summary
I have been tutoring almost all of my life, beginning in 5th grade when I tutored a special needs student in spelling. In junior high school, I began regularly tutoring mathematics to other students and have continued doing so to this day. While in college, I was employed as a tutor for my college as well as several community high schools. As a tutor in college, I worked with a student who was blind and 95% deaf to teach her algebra 1 and 2. She successfully completed both subjects with an A! Upon graduation, I have worked as an independent contractor for 12 years tutoring all levels of math to all level of students in the Richmond, VA community. After working with students, their grades have improved dramatically. I have found that some students just need the information relayed to them in a different way than the teacher taught and need the one-on-one attention to improve confidence.
