Additional Policies:

I would ask for the assistance of a $3 fuel surcharge for the cost of my traveling over 10 miles to get to you so we can work together. I ask for a cancellation fee of one hour's rate of payment if not given notice prior to 24 hours before the scheduled session; except, of course in cases of emergencies or sudden illness. I do not charge for my material expenses including curricula, copying, paper or anything else I provide; those contributions are included in the hourly fee. The only exception to this policy is if I strongly recommend that you purchase a particular curriculum material that would enhance your learning experience and increase your chances of mastery!

About Me

Experience Summary

I have taught and tutored at all levels ranging from Elementary through College in both "Mainstream" and "Special Education" environments. In addition, I have a great deal of experience teaching and tutoring ESL and Law Students at the college and post-graduate levels. In conjunction with the instructional piece, I have designed, authored and implemented curricula in all of the above areas.

Teaching Style

I am extremely individualized in my approach; by creating a Plan for each student based on a careful and non-threatening assessment of his/her needs, strengths and challenges. I feel very strongly about authentic and credible teacher reinforcement for every increment of effort and progress made toward each objective and goal within each respective student's Plan. I am also ardent about incorporating a method of Self Reinforcement for the student so that he/she can feel proud and successful about task attempt and/or completion; regardless of ultimate teacher or institutional feedback.

My Hobbies

My interests are quite varied. I enjoy just about any outdoor activity that's not too risky (e.g. I'll opt out of sky diving and go for the walk in the park!). I love music, singing, dancing, animals, flowers, colors, following politics (it's kind of a love/hate relationship!), effective communication in all forms; especially writing(!), building relationships based on mutual respect of differences and boundaries, "working out," BASEBALL...well, you get the idea!

Other Comments

I would love the opportunity to assist you in building skills and proficiencies, developing confidence, mastering a subject area, preparing for/taking on a test of just about any kind at any level...the best part is, I can almost guarantee, we would both have fun in the process!
