Experience Summary
I have ten years' experience in the field of education, as a tutor, instructor, and academic advisor. My experience includes:
--Tutoring Chemistry and serving as an Academic Peer Advisor while I was an undergrad student
--Substitute teaching after graduating with my B.A. and obtaining my teaching certification
--Tutoring multiple subjects at a community college; subjects included College Algebra, Freshman Composition I and II, Literature, Political Science, Biology, Medical Terminology, and Microcomputer Applications
--Managing tutoring centers on three college campuses
--Teaching multiple developmental (zero-level) college courses, including College Reading, Introduction to College Writing, Essential English, Basic Math, and Elementary Algebra (Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas and Bacone College)
--Tutoring high school students for the Upward Bound program
--Teaching an ACT Reading and Writing prep class
--Coordinating outreach and interventions to students at risk of failing or dropping out of college (NSU Tahlequah)
--Serving as an academic advisor to Freshmen and Sophomore college students (NSU Tahlequah)

Teaching Style
First of all. I believe every student can learn; it takes patience and creativity to help a student grasp the material. My teaching style is very interactive and tailored to the individual student's personality and learning style. I strive to make learning fun by using games yand humor to help a student understand the material. I believe that helping a student understand the underlying concept or framework of each subject is vital to the student's success.
