Experience Summary
Robert Bell currently serves as Section 3 Compliance Coordinator for the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA). His role is to ensure local compliance with Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s Section 3 legislation to help low-income participants achieve self-sufficiency by providing employment, job readiness training, coaching and support. Robert serves as CMHA's main contact with CMHA residents, participating companies and the community-at-large to ensure success of Section 3 goals in Greater Cincinnati.
Robert previously served as Director of Community Services for Beech Acres Parenting Center where he oversaw several Federal and local community initiatives in the areas of healthy marriage-healthy relationships and effective parenting. In this role, he coordinated the implementation of a parenting education and peer support program called Power in Parenting®, as well as a collaborative program with Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services called Family Connections, which provided healthy relationship and parenting training to low-income pregnant moms and expectant fathers.
He also served as Director of Volunteer Connection Services at United Way of Greater Cincinnati. While there he implemented a nationally recognized Board Leadership Training Program for African Americans called “Project Blueprint”, which was instrumental in helping Cincinnati win the National United Way of America’s Diversity Award in 1999.
A graduate of the Xavier University’s MBA Program, Robert has provided strategic planning, process improvement and board leadership training programs to over 20 organizations during the past fifteen years. He has also served as an adjunct instructor for the Professional Development course, College of Arts and Sciences, University of Cincinnati.
