Experience Summary
Currently I run the Spanish Club at Gulf Coast Charter Academy since they opened two years ago for kinder to middle students. I teach individual or small group language classes only for children. I am originally from Venezuela. As a Spanish native speaker, I have emphasized the importance of early second language immersion for young children. Also, learning Spanish from a native speaking teacher is the ideal way to learn the language with appropriate pronunciation and provide the opportunity to learn a different culture as well. My three children had successfully grown with two languages. I had the opportunity to develop and run my Spanish Program named “Chamitos” at Indiana in private pre-schools for four years. It was a success, and many youngsters are now closer to my efforts. I had the opportunity to work as a Pre-school and Kindergarten teacher for many years. I applied fun and engaging, age-appropriate into my curriculum and included cultural awareness. Learning Spanish is fun with my program! I strongly believe that children learning Spanish as a second language can make a difference in the future of your child. My program is also designed for those children coming from native Spanish speaking families who want to reinforce the language and to advance students in writing, reading and conversational level.
Teaching Style
I applied fun and engaging, age-appropriate into my curriculum (games, music,instruments, etc). I included cultural awareness and Latin dancing. Many children had learned the basics of salsa and merengue in my classes.
My Hobbies
I like Latin dancing, sports, movies, going to the beach and any outdoor activities.
