Experience Summary
As a substitute teacher for social studies and English literature, in both honors and regular classes, I facilitated learning by following the lesson plans. Utilizing student-centered learning techniques, like asking questions and encouraging discussions, I helped create an atmosphere where learning became interesting and happened naturally. By promoting and stimulating guided discussions and critical thinking, I was able to inspire interest in the students for further study and research in a subject.
Teaching Style
My expertise is in humanities. I combine original writings from ancient (Plato, Aristotle, Sophocles, etc.) and more modern (Shakespeare, Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, etc.) authors who have shaped our world. By utilizing the Socratic method, I promote critical thinking and engage the student in discussion. My ultimate goal is to help the student not only learn and master the subject, but also to inspire a love of learning and further desire to explore.
