Experience Summary
I am a recent graduate from Suffolk University with a degree in Biology and a focus in Marine Science. While obtaining my degree, I completed multiple relevant courses including General Biology, Marine Biology, Biology of Fishes, and Comparative Animal and Physiology, all of which I feel comfortable tutoring. Last summer I was a a course assistant for Field Botany, a three week intensive course in Edmunds, Maine. My duties included supervising 13 students in the field, guiding students on educational hikes, tutoring students in their studies, assisting students with their individual projects, along with assisting the Professor's lectures. My senior year at Suffolk University, I participated in an Independent Study on "The Effect of Temperature on the Metabolic Rate of Carcinus maenas." During this time, I applied what I had learned as a Marine Biology student at Suffolk to complete five weeks of research that I then presented at the Eastern New England Biology Conference.
Teaching Style
I understand that everyone learns at different speeds and require different tequniches to fully grasp a subject. I feel it is important to identify a students unique learning style, and elaborate on it in order for him/her to reach their full potential. I focus mainly on repetition; practice makes perfect!
My Hobbies
I enjoy being outside and enjoying a beautiful day. I have hiked multiple mountains in Maine while taking courses such as Ecology, Marine Biology, and Field Botany.
