I have been teaching ESL/TEFL for 17 years.
I've taught students from age 12 to 70, from Japan, Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Italy, Austria, Germany, Poland, France, Spain, New Caledonia, Brazil, Argentina, Tahiti.
I've been teaching ESL for academic purposes (in Foundation/bridge programs) at college and university level, for the last seven years.TOEFL.
Teaching Style
My philosophy is one of inclusiveness in the classroom. My approach is one of teamwork, to give the students the feeling that their classmates and teacher are all working together towards a goal, their success. I believe that students need to be well-supported in their learning process but not spoon fed. Improvement is everyone's responsibility. As the leader of the class, it is my responsibility to analyse how best to teach each students, by knowing their learning styles and instructing them accordingly. The challenge to me is not presenting appropriate materials in a useful and easy to understand way, but to guarentee the acquisition of the lesson.
