Experience Summary
I would like to advise you of the experiences I have working with the STEM program. I have completed three weeks of training in the Project Lead the Way program at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. PLTW has prepare me with the tools I need to execute the STEM curriculum in Middle Schools. I was able to receive training in the areas of Automation and Robotics, Design and Modeling and Medical Detectives. These three areas in the middle school have allowed me to prepare students for the 21st century. In these three areas, students are introduced to world of engineering with building robots, designing solutions to real life problems, and the biomedical science field. The students are able to explore, think outside of their box and challenge themselves with justification of theories and principles of science, technology, engineering and math.
My academic training and two years of experience working as a Gateway to Technology teacher has prepare me to be an effective researcher and instructor in the STEM field. My exciting lesson plans, field studies and speakers have contributed to the success of the STEM program where I currently teach. I have a strong ability to adjust to my environment. I enjoy students and I enjoy the ability to learn and to teach. I believe nothing is impossible the word itself spells “I’m Possible”. I take pride in my work and will not like to be anything but the best in everything I am a part of.
