Experience Summary
I have been an artist all my life. One of my earliest memories is of drawing in pre-K and beginning what was to become my beloved marker collection. The very day I became old enough, I asked to be enrolled into Houston's esteemed Glassell School of Art, where I later became a teacher in my adult life. There was never any question i would go to art school for college, and I have been a working artist ever since. I have co-founded my own art space, built my own website, managed my own art consulting business, and I presently run my own handmade artisanal jewelry business. Upon moving to Austin around two years ago, I immediately started teaching for the Dougherty Art School. I made a decision to share my creativity with others and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made! I love making art with my students!
Teaching Style
I am a Cancer, so for those of you who follow western Astrology, feel free to assume many of those typical characteristics you might have read about are true, in my case--I am patient, caring, understanding and sympathetic. I have a knack for making my students feel comfortable and at ease, thus bringing out the best of their creative and imaginative side.
My Hobbies
Making jewelry, painting, writing and teaching kids :)
