Experience Summary
I am hoping to tutor students from k-8th grade because I know I have more than enough qualification to help them succeed. Plus, I have worked as a bible studies and piano teacher at my church with students in that range. I also have enough tutoring and academic experience to be able to tutor these students. For ~3 years I was a tutor for students learning English as a second language (for I speak English and Spanish) at Reedley College. I helped them with basic reading, writing, pronunciation, grammar, etc., much like what students within k-8th grade learn. Furthermore, I acquired a well rounded education by earning an Associates in General Studies, and this helped me become knowledgeable in a wide array of subjects. This, I'm sure can help me be an excellent tutor for these students as well. Currently, I am earning a Bachelors in Philosophy/Religious Studies, and am applying for a dual Masters degree in Family Therapy/Theology this spring. So I take education seriously, and would love to transmit this passion for education to young students as well.
Teaching Style
I like to break things down into baby steps. However, my teaching style will change according to how each student learns the easiest.
My Hobbies
I like to learn piano, read, write, and to hike in Yosemite.
